Are you thinking about relocating from your home country, or maybe you’re a traveler looking for a great place to live for cheap? If that is the case your sure bet is to live in the Philippines, because there is no place on earth for less.
Without a doubt the Philippines is one place on earth where you will get your “monies worth”! There is some serious bang for your buck here in the “PI”, (as the locals call it).
Just a few years ago I was surfing the internet, with retirement right around the corner. I knew I would be hard pressed trying to live on my measly pension in the United States in 2010. To live in the Philippines was such a better option for me.
With inflation at an all time high, life was giving me a bad deal in my “golden years”. With only a few options I begin seriously thinking if a change had to be made before i was on a fixed income forever.
To Live in the Philippines – Power of the Internet
I had a few friends that thought the way i did about making some kind of change. We were all contemplating moving overseas together, but many of them where reluctant to move because of family
restraints and such, so i was basically alone in my thinking at this point. But moving out the country (USA) was something i felt i could accomplish being a single man. I felt this could be an easy transition i and a new beginning for me. To live in the Philippines couldn't be so hard i thought.
One of my closes family members told me about a eBook that had read a few months back which contained an overload of current info on how anyone could live in the Philippines for under $750 dollars a month. With my pension being around $800/mth i felt that this was a perfect fit for me and what i would need to get started in a new country.
Without hesitation i asked my uncle if he had the eBook or how I could get it. He emailed me that day, the link to Rusty's "Philippines Experience: Basic Expat Training Manual" .pdf. I have to honestly say that if i had to give this Rusty's eBook a review i would have only good things to say. This eBook was packed with so much useful information that only someone living there for years could construct. And now this info was going to save me a bunch of time and money. Beside it being an easy read, i was able to shave off years of figuring out how to navigate around the Philippines alone with only the natives to guide me, that would most likely cost me more money than I had to spend.
One of the most impressive parts of Rusty's guide was how to not get ripped off in the first few months of your arrival, and how to get around paying more as a foreigner for things than the locals pay. I think that saved me more money that anything else, and I very grateful for that!
If you're planning to take a trip to one of the worlds most inexpensive countries do your self a favor and pick up a copy of Philippines Experience: Basic Expat Training Manual. Its like the American Express Card.. "Don't leave home without it"
Now in retrospect, life is so simple and affordable in the Philippines that anyone with a family or single guy/gal can move here and live there dreams on much much less than most, if not all 1st world countries (United States/Europe/Australia etc.) To live in the Philippines could be the next best secret to becoming financially free for many westerns during this economic downturn that is going on in the USA & Europe.
